Our Board and Volunteers

All board members and advisors to The Weathervane Foundation serve on a volunteer basis, and without compensation.

Fran Padgett, Founder and Executive Director
Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001, Fran left her successful business career to pursue her passions for painting and writing, and her new calling – finding a cause and a cure for breast cancer. Recognizing her dedication to the cause of breast cancer, BMW named Fran a Houston 2005 Hero in connection with BMW’s Ultimate Drive for the Cure, which raises funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Fran is a charter member of the Cypress Creek Museum of Fine Arts, and author of “Breast Cancer Recovery: No One Wrote a Manual,” winner of six national literary awards, and “Breast Cancer: No One Chose This Journey,” due in bookstores Spring of 2009.
